A library is a place where books and sources of information are stored. They make it easier for people to get access to them for various purposes. Libraries are important cornerstones of a healthy community. Ahalia School of Management Library and Information Center is having a spacious and well-furnished library with a reading room capacity of 40 students. The library is open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. This is a full-fledged automated library with more than 6000 volumes of books related to General MBA, Healthcare Management and general books that are relevant to students. There are more than 19 reputed National Journals and Magazines of different disciplines of MBA and Healthcare present in the library. The ASM library has membership with NDLI.

Learning aids like  CDs/DVDs are also available in the library. The library is fully automated using KOHA Integrated Library System. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) service is provided through Digital Library. With the help of OPAC Services, staff and students can search for their required books without getting delayed. Internet browsing service and Reprographic service are also available to provide ready reference service to the library members. Library follows the Dewey Decimal Scheme of Classification for the books. All library services like acquisition, cataloging, issue, return, renewal, catalogue search (On-Line Public Access Catalogue) have been fully computerized with the help of bar-code facility.

Library Rules and Regulations

WORKING HOURS

 Monday – Saturday            9:00 Am t0 5:30 PM

 The library is closed on second Saturday, Sundays and all public holidays

  • Silence must be observed in the Library.
  • Entry is permitted with ID card only.
  • All bags, cases, folders etc. must be left in the Property counter outside the library.
  • No student is allowed to enter the circulation area without the consent of the library staff.
  • Use of edibles and mobile phones in the Library is strictly prohibited.
  • Reference materials should not be taken outside from the Library.
  • On leaving the Library, all users are requested to extend their cooperation for the inspection of all books and items taken out of the Library.
  • Overdue charges will be applicable for books returned after the due date.
  • If an issued book is lost / damaged, it is to be either replaced with latest edition.
  • If any device of the computer is not working, do not fix it kindly report at the Librarian/ Library staff
  • Silence must be observed in the Library.
  • Reference books and periodicals are not issued out.
  • Dissertation/Projects are to be consulted with the library premises only.

Borrowing Procedure

  • All students must present their college ID before borrowing any library materials
  • Students are allowed to borrow a maximum of Five books for a period of 15 days
  • All borrowed materials must be returned on or before the due date
  • Students are not allowed to borrow books on behalf of others or transfer borrowed materials to other students.
  • All users will be held responsible for any damage or loss of library materials in their possession and will be required to meet the cost of replacement and processing
  • Users must ensure that the books they borrow are in good condition to avoid being held responsible for any damages noted while returning the books
  • Lost books must be reported to the librarian immediately and replaced or paid for within 30 days
