As part of International Nurses Day, Ahalia School of Management organised a Nurses Appreciation Drive on 13th May 2026 to honour and celebrate the dedication, compassion, and invaluable contribution of nursing professionals to society and the healthcare sector. The programme was conducted with the objective of expressing gratitude and appreciation towards nurses for their selfless service and commitment to patient care. The programme commenced with an introductory session highlighting the significance of International Nurses Day, delivered by Prof. (Dr) B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal and Director of Ahalia School of Management, Palakkad, at the ASM Seminar Hall at 9.30 a.m. In his address, he emphasized the vital role played by nurses in the healthcare system and appreciated their unwavering commitment, especially during times of crisis and emergencies. He also highlighted the importance of compassion, patience and dedication in the nursing profession and praised nurses for being the backbone of the healthcare sector.
Following the session, faculty members and MBA students visited Ahalia School of Nursing, where they interacted with the faculty members and budding nurses. The team honoured them with tokens of appreciation and conveyed heartfelt wishes in recognition of their dedication towards the noble profession of nursing. The interaction created a sense of encouragement and motivation among the nursing students and reflected the spirit of mutual respect and appreciation between future management professionals and healthcare providers.
Thereafter, the faculty members and MBA students visited Ahalia Women and Children Hospital to honour the nursing staff serving in the hospital. During the visit, students warmly interacted with the nurses, expressed their gratitude, and presented tokens of appreciation as a gesture of respect and admiration for their tireless efforts and compassionate care. A moment of silence was also observed in remembrance of the brave healthcare warriors who lost their lives on the frontlines while serving humanity.
The felicitation address was delivered by Ms. Chinnu K. Jose, First Year MBA student, who acknowledged the remarkable service, dedication and empathy demonstrated by nurses in caring for patients and supporting society. She appreciated the commitment and sacrifices made by nurses in ensuring the wellbeing of patients and emphasized the need to recognize and value their contributions to the healthcare system. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Amrutha, First Year MBA student, who expressed sincere gratitude to the hospital authorities, nursing staff, faculty members and students for their wholehearted participation and support in making the event memorable and successful.
