A Workshop on Case-Study Analysis

On July 9, 2025 (Wednesday), Ahalia School of Management (ASM) organised the initial session of “A Workshop on Case-Study Analysis” for second year MBA students (both Healthcare Management and General), at the seminar hall of ASM. The session was scheduled at 2.00 p.m. The event began with an introductory talk by the Principal & Director (Prof.) Dr. B Vijayachandran Pillai. He spoke about the role of case-studies in management education and how case-studies help to bridge theory and practice. The introductory talk was followed by a 3.5 hour session by Mr. Ajith Sankar R N, Assistant Professor, ASM. The resource person gave an introduction to the case method of learning, what is unique about the case-study method, its history and characteristics, components and elements of a case, and how to prepare for a case discussion. The session concluded with students given a demonstration of collecting data pertaining to ‘Fair phone’, an Amsterdam based company engaged in manufacturing fairer phones. The initial session of the workshop was focused on theoretical inputs related to case-study and analysis. The second session will delve into discussion and analysis of a live-case.
