An informative talk on “Awareness on Different Investment Avenues” was organized by  Ahalia School of Management on 04.06.2025 at 2.00 p.m. The session started  with  a welcome address and an introductory talk by Principal & Director, Prof.(Dr).B.Vijayachandran Pillai who aimed to enhance financial literacy and equip MBA students with knowledge about various investment options suitable for different financial goals, risk appetites and time horizons. Dr.Amuthan. R, Program officer, SEBI, Southern Regional Office, Chennai served as the Resource person and he provided an   in-depth explanation of a wide range of investment options including – Traditional Investment Avenues like  Public Provident Fund (PPF), Fixed Deposits (FD), Recurring Deposits (RD), Gold and Real Estate. Also he gave insights about Market-linked Investment Options like Equity Shares, Mutual Funds (SIP, Lump sum), Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) and Bonds and Debentures. He highlighted the modern investment options such as Crypto currencies , REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts), Digital Gold and Peer-to-peer Lending. He stressed the importance of diversification and understanding how risk varies with each investment and how to set financial goals and to create a balanced portfolio. The talk was followed by an engaging Q&A session where students raised queries related to stock markets, tax planning, SIPs, and how to begin investing with limited capital. The speaker addressed each question with practical insights and real-world examples. The session came to an end by 4.00 p.m with a vote of thanks by Ms.Nandana.
