Ahalia School of Management organized a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 25th September 2025 on the topic “Foundations of Business Analytics”. The session was conducted by Prof. Dr. R. Chandrasekhar Menon, renowned academician and expert in analytics from Servitude, Coimbatore.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Director & Principal, Ahalia School of Management. In his speech, he highlighted the growing importance of data-driven decision-making in the contemporary business environment and emphasized the need for continuous up skilling among faculty to meet the changing demands of management education.   The resource person, Prof. Dr. Chandrasekhar Menon, delivered a highly engaging and insightful session on the Foundations of Business Analytics. His presentation covered key areas such as:

•           Introduction to Business Analytics

•           Importance of data in strategic decision-making

•           Overview of analytical tools and techniques

•           Case studies demonstrating real-world applications

•           Challenges and ethical considerations in analytics

The session was interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions and case-based learning exercises. Faculty members from various departments participated enthusiastically, gaining valuable insights into integrating analytics into both research and teaching methodologies.  The FDP concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Padmaavathy PA., Associate Professor, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guest speaker for sharing his expertise and to the organizers and participants for making the event a grand success.
