As part of the academic-industry collaboration with Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital (AFEH), a three-day internship programme was conducted from 13th to 15th June 2024. The programme provided students with practical exposure to the functioning and management of a specialized eye hospital.

During the internship, 4 students gained first-hand experience in various areas of hospital operations, including patient registration and reception, outpatient department (OPD) procedures, patient flow management, appointment scheduling, billing and insurance processes, medical records management, pharmacy operations, diagnostic and laboratory services, and general hospital administration. Students also observed the coordination between clinical and administrative departments and developed an understanding of patient care, service quality, healthcare delivery processes and hospital workflow. The programme helped Students Bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications while enhancing their understanding of healthcare management and professional practices.
