An internship programme was organized at Ahalia Hospital AHCL, Palakkad, on 4 October 2024, with 21 students participating. The programme provided students with practical exposure to the functioning and management of a multispecialty hospital.

The students observed key hospital functions including patient registration and admission, OPD and IPD operations, patient flow management, billing and insurance, medical records, pharmacy, diagnostic services and support functions. They also gained an understanding of interdepartmental coordination and the importance of efficient processes in delivering quality healthcare services.

The internship enhanced students’ practical knowledge of hospital administration, patient-centred care, service quality and healthcare operations, contributing to their professional development and readiness for the healthcare management sector.
