Ahalia School of Management in association with ISDC (International Skill Development Corporation) has organized a National Conference on “Emerging Trends in Service Sector” on 26/03/2024 at ASM Seminar Hall. Dr. K Manivannan, Associate Professor welcomed the Chief Guest, other dignitaries and delegates to the function followed by thematic address by Ms. Manju M, Assistant Professor. Prof.(Dr) B Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal & Director presided over the function. Ms. Jyothis Rachel Mathews, Assistant Professor, has given a brief introduction about the Chief Guest of the inaugural session Mr. Chandra Bose, Managing Director, Malabar Cements Ltd., Palakkad. In his inaugural address, Mr. Chandra Bose stressed the importance of service sector especially IT and BPO in the development of the business. He also mentioned about the latest innovations in IT sector namely AI, Business Analytics etc. Dr. M Nikhil, Associate Academic Head, ISDC and Dr. S N Jagadeesh, Principal, Ahalia School of Commerce & Mathematics offered felicitations. Finally Dr. Aashna Sidhic, Assistant Professor proposed the Vote of Thanks. Thereafter, two technical sessions were arranged with the help of eminent resource persons in the field. The first Technical Session was handled by Mr. Nilesh Sathe, Former Zonal Manager (Northern Zone of LIC) and Former Member of IRDA. He delivered a talk on “Emerging Trends in Insurance Sector”. In the second Technical Session, Dr. Megha Richhariya, Head Medical Services, Manipal Hospital, Haryana concentrated her talk on the topic “Cyber Security in Hospitals”. In the afternoon session, two separate events were organized. In the first event, paper presentation by research Scholars and faculties through both online and offline mode and in the second session Idea presentation by students were conducted. A total of 11 delegates presented their papers in the offline mode and 32 delegates presented through online mode. The offline session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) B Vijayachandran Pillai and co-chaired by Ms. Manju M. The online session was chaired by Dr. K Manivannan and co-chaired by Ms. Jyothis Rachel Mathews. In the idea presentation session, 4 students were participated.The paper presentation came to an end by 4:15 pm. The Valedictory Function started by 4:30 pm. Prof.(Dr.) B Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal & Director delivered the valedictory address. Ms. Manju M (Assistant Professor) and Dr. Aashna Sidhic (Assistant Professor) offered felicitations. Two students Ms. Navya Mahesh and Ms. Anaswara K gave feedback of the session. The certificates was distributed to the delegates by Prof.(Dr.) B Vijayachandran Pillai. Finally, Ms. Neetu P M proposed the Vote of Thanks. The Valedictory Function came to an end by 5:15 pm.
