National Safety Day-2026

The ASM observed the National Safety Day on 17th March 2026 @ 11.00 am with the objective of promoting awareness about safety practices and regulatory compliance in workplaces. The session started with a brief introduction by Prof. (Dr.).B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal  & Director, ASM about the relevance of National Safety Day and the role of National Safety Council of India in implementing the best practices for safety of workmen and environmental protection of workplaces and society.  He stressed the need for providing awareness on safety measures among the young prospective managers and ensuring proper safety measures, risk management practices & responsible leadership in workplace.

       As part of the celebration, a special expert talk by an experienced industry delegate was organized on the topic “Workplace Safety and Compliance.” The resource person was Mr. Pandiyan Dharmaraj, Plant Manager at Interconnect Technologies, Coimbatore (a division of Souriau India Private Limited, Eaton Aerospace Group). The speaker provided valuable insights into the importance of maintaining safety standards in modern organizations. He emphasized that workplace safety is not merely a legal requirement but a fundamental responsibility of both employers and employees. The session covered key areas such as:

•           Importance of occupational health and safety

•           Legal frameworks and compliance requirements

•           Risk identification and hazard management

•           Safety culture and employee participation

•           Case studies from industrial practices

Mr. Pandiyan also highlighted real-life examples from the manufacturing sector, illustrating how adherence to safety norms can prevent accidents and enhance organizational efficiency through live videos. He stressed the role of management in fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring continuous training and awareness among employees. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms.Krishna Priya, II MBA HCM acknowledging the valuable contribution of the resource person. The session came to an end at 1.00 pm.
