Onam Celebration 2025

The Ahalia School of Management Studies organized an Onam Celebration at the Karunya Geriatric Centre, Palakkad on 27-8-2025. The event was conducted to share the joy of Kerala’s harvest festival with the elderly inmates and to provide students with a meaningful experience of service and cultural expression. The day began with a formal inaugural session at the ASM Seminar Hall at 10:00 a.m. The session started with a Welcome Address by Ms. Mansa, second-year MBA student, followed by the Presidential Address delivered by the Principal and Director, Prof. Dr. B. Vijayachandran Pillai. Ms. Jyothis, faculty member and Mr. Abishob, student representative, offered felicitations. Thereafter, proceeded to the Karunya Geriatric Centre, where the programme began at 11:30 AM. The inmates and staff of Karunya gave a warm reception, with a Welcome Address by Mr. Madhu, Secretary of Karunya. This was followed by a series of cultural activities performed by MBA students, including songs and dances. Adding a special charm to the occasion, the inmates of the centre also presented performances, showcasing their enthusiasm and spirit. The highlight of the celebration was the traditional Onam Sadhya, where students and faculty shared the festive meal with the residents, creating a spirit of togetherness and joy. The event concluded with a photo session capturing the memorable moments of bonding, laughter and cultural harmony. The celebration not only reflected the vibrancy of Onam but also strengthened the values of empathy, social responsibility and cultural unity among the student community.
