The Ahalia School of Management organized an Online Seminar on Awareness on Capital Market in the Zoom Platform on 31 January 2024 @ 2.00 pm. Mr. Rahul Dhawan, Capital Market Expert, Mumbai Stock Exchange has served as the Resource Person. The Principal and Director, Prof. B.Vijayachandran Pillai has introduced the Resource Person to the Participants and welcomed all the participants to the session. In his welcome address, he stressed the need for acquiring practical knowledge on the different financial market instruments, market structure and Risk Management. The resource person Mr.Rahul Dhawan explained the method to handle money most effectively in the Capital market with special reference to Bombay Stock Exchange. The procedures involved in buying/selling shares in Securities Market, E-trading, method of operation of capital market, settlement system, Basic features of different asset classes in terms of Return, Safety and liquidity etc. are discussed in detail. He also explained about the key aspects of financial planning with respect to capital market investments, the financial products available at BSE, Do‘s Don’ts for investors, Rights and Obligations of investors, the mechanism for redressing the grievances of investors and the recent market developments. The students and faculty members clarified their queries. Finally, Dr. Manivannan proposed the vote of thanks to the Resource Person and the participants. The session came to an end @4.00 p.m.
