Preparatory Interviews for Placement Excellence

With the objective of enhancing the employability skills and interview readiness of the outgoing MBA Health Care students, Ahalia School of Management (ASM) organized a Preparatory Interviews for Placement Excellence programme for the Fourth Semester MBA – Health Care students on 17 July 2026 from 9:30 AM on-wards. The programme was designed to simulate the recruitment and selection procedures followed by leading healthcare institutions and organizations. It provided students with a realistic interview experience, enabling them to understand employer expectations while improving their confidence, communication skills, and professional presentation before attending actual placement interviews.

The interview board comprised Prof. Dr. B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal & Director, along with all faculty members of the School of Management, who served as panel members. The panel evaluated each student individually in a professional interview environment, focusing on academic knowledge, healthcare management concepts, communication skills, analytical ability, problem-solving aptitude, leader-ship qualities, personality traits, confidence and overall employability. Students were interviewed on a wide range of topics related to healthcare management, hospital administration, and current trends in the healthcare industry, management principles, internship experiences, project work, and situational problem-solving. Equal emphasis was placed on assessing interpersonal skills, ethical decision-making, professional attitude, and the ability to respond confidently under pressure, which are essential qualities expected by healthcare organizations.

The panel members also provided constructive and personalized feedback to every student. They highlighted individual strengths while offering practical suggestions for improvement in areas such as communication, body language, technical knowledge, confidence, interview etiquette and professional grooming. The interactive feedback session enabled students to recognize their areas of improvement and develop strategies to perform more effectively during campus recruitment and professional interviews. The programme proved to be highly beneficial in preparing students for their forthcoming placement opportunities. It helped participants gain valuable exposure to real-time interview situations, overcome anxiety and develop greater self-confidence.
