Two-Day Skill and Personality Development Programme – Day 1

       A skill and personality development programme was organized for the students of Ahalia School of Management on 17.08.2026 @ 9.30am in ASM Seminar Hall with Mr. A.Akhilesh, Skill Development Executive, ASAP Kerala Government who served as the resource person. The session focused on developing essential employability and professional skills among students and was conducted in an interactive and engaging manner.

       The major topics covered during the forenoon session were Interview Skills, Presentation Skills and Self-Confidence. Mr. Akhilesh explained effective techniques for facing interviews, communicating ideas clearly, presenting oneself professionally and building confidence. He also highlighted the importance of body language, communication, preparation and positive attitude in professional situations. An Auction Game was conducted as an experiential learning activity, which helped students develop decision-making, communication, team-work and strategic thinking skills. The interactive nature of the session encouraged active participation and provided students with practical insights that can be applied in interviews, presentations and workplace situations. The session was highly informative and beneficial in enhancing the overall employability skills of the students. The afternoon session focused on the importance of effective communication in academic, professional and personal life. The trainer discussed various aspects of communication, including verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, clarity of expression, body language and interpersonal communication. Students were encouraged to actively participate in practical activities and interactive exercises to improve their communication abilities. The session helped students understand the importance of communicating confidently and effectively in interviews, presentations, group discussions and workplace situations. Overall, the session was informative, engaging and useful in enhancing the students’ communication and interpersonal skills. The session came to an end by 4.00pm.
