As part of UHV Program for newly admitted MBA students, a session on “Women’s Wellness – Prioritizing Preventive Care” was organized .The resource person was Dr Sukruthi, Obstetrician, Ahalia Women and Children Hospital. The session started at 12.00 noon @ ASM Seminar hall and was useful to educate and empower girl students on the importance of prioritizing health through preventive care, early screening, and wellness habits especially as they begin their professional journey. The topics covered were common health issues affecting women in the student age group, menstrual hygiene, reproductive health awareness, work-life balance, health priorities and nutrition tips for long-term well-being.
As part of UHV Program for newly admitted MBA students, a session was handled by Mr. Vaidyanathan N, Retd. AGM & Regional Manager, SBI & Financial expert on the topic “Trends Redefining Today’s Banking Landscape”. The session started at 2.00 p.m .Prof. Dr.B.Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal and Director, Ahalia School of Management introduced and welcomed the Resource Person. Mr. Vaidyanathan N has given an insight on how the banking industry is evolving in the face of technological advancements, regulatory changes and shifting customer expectations. The session gave clear understanding of current and emerging trends in banking as well as how technology is reshaping customer service and banking operations. He also presented a video on transformation of banking from the stage of traditional to the modern digital era. The session came to an end at 4.00 p.m.
DAY 2- 18/07/2025
As part of our continuous efforts to inspire and nurture entrepreneurial spirit among MBA students, a special session on “Entrepreneurship – Success Stories (Start-Up)” was conducted on 18.07.2025 at 9.30 a.m. @ ASM Seminar hall. Mr. Devan Chandrashekaran, Managing Director of Fuselage Innovations Pvt Ltd. has served as Resource person. The session commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by a brief introduction of the guest speaker. He shared how Fuselage Innovations was born out of a passion for design and innovation and how the company navigated the early challenges of funding, product development, market entry and scaling operations. Mr. Devan also shed light on the role of emerging technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration in driving innovation. He encouraged students to think creatively, take calculated risks and pursue their ideas with commitment. His address included key takeaways on business ethics, leadership and the value of building a strong core team. The session concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude for sharing his inspiring journey and motivating the next generation of entrepreneurs.
As part of the UHV program for MBA students, with a view to inculcate entrepreneurial mind-set, a highly inspiring session titled “Igniting Ideas: The Start-Up Story” was conducted on 18.07.2025 from 11:15 a.m to 1:00 p.m. The session was handled by Ms. Vinitha Joseph, Senior Technology Fellow, Kerala Start-Up Mission (KSUM).The event began with a welcome address who introduced the guest speaker. Ms. Vinitha Joseph delivered a thought-provoking and motivational session that delved into the core principles of ideation, validation, and execution in the start-up journey. Drawing from her rich experience at KSUM, she discussed how young innovators can convert problems into opportunities and navigate the challenges of launching and scaling a start-up in today’s competitive market. The session ended at 1.15 p.m.
The academic bridge course was designed to equip first-year MBA students with essential foundational knowledge, a session titled “Foundations of Business Statistics” was conducted on 18.07.2025 from 2.00pm to 4.00 pm.The session was handled by Dr. Binoy Balan, Professor & Head of Department at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology (ASET). The session commenced with a brief welcome and introduction of the guest. Dr. Balan led the session with clarity and enthusiasm, beginning with the basic statistical concepts relevant to business and management studies. The session was rich in practical examples and business scenarios, which helped students, relate statistical concepts to real-world applications. He also emphasized the role of data-driven decision-making in modern business environments and how statistical tools aid in understanding trends and making informed strategic choices.
DAY 3- 21/07/2025
A session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was conducted for the MBA students as part of the UHV program on 21.07.2025 at 9.30 am @ ASM Seminar hall. The session was led by Advocate Suvarna Gopal, a seasoned legal practitioner and Company Secretary from Manali, Palakkad who specializes in IPR law. The objective of the session was to introduce students to the core concepts, practical applications and the legal frameworks surrounding Intellectual Property Rights, especially relevant in today’s innovation-driven economy. She began the session by breaking down the concept of Intellectual Property into four primary categories –Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents and Trade Secrets. She emphasized the growing importance of IPR in the fields of business, innovation, branding and digital content creation. The session included real-time practical case studies involving disputes over patents and copyright infringement, which helped students understand the seriousness and complexity of IPR-related issues. She also highlighted how MBA students and future managers must be aware of IPR implications in marketing, operations, product development and entrepreneurship. The session ended at 11.15 a.m.
As part of the UHV Student Induction Program, a guest lecture on “Heritage Tourism: Preserving the Past, Present and Future” was organized for MBA students on 21.07.2025 at 11.15am @ Ahalia Heritage Village. The talk was delivered by Dr.R.Vijayakumar Varma, Director of Heritage at Ahalia Group, renowned for his expertise in cultural preservation and tourism management. Dr. Varma began the lecture by explaining the concept of Heritage Tourism a form of tourism centered around visiting historical and cultural sites with the intent to experience the legacy of past civilizations, traditions and cultures. He emphasized that heritage tourism not only showcases a region’s identity but also contributes significantly to its economy, especially in countries like India that boast a rich and diverse cultural past. He also provided insights into Ahalia Heritage Village, showcasing it as a model for integrated cultural preservation, educational tourism and sustainable practices.
The afternoon session started at 2.15 pm. In an effort to bridge academic learning with real-world business practices, a session on “Corporate Governance and Ethics: Success Stories” was organized for MBA students. The session featured two prominent professionals from CSWA (Corporate Solutions World Ahead), Calicut – Mr. S Saveesh K V, Chairman and Company Secretary and Adv. Mr. Nithin Babu, Managing Director. Their vast experience in corporate law, governance and ethical practices provided students with a deep and practical understanding of the subject. Mr. Saveesh K V elaborated on the legal and regulatory framework that governs corporations in India, including the Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI guidelines. He emphasized the role of Company Secretaries in ensuring compliance and ethical conduct in corporate operations. He also highlighted real-world case studies where companies either thrived due to ethical governance or faced downfall due to governance failures. These examples helped students understand the critical link between governance and long-term success. Mr. Nithin Babu added depth to the discussion by sharing success stories from CSWA’s consulting experience. He spoke about businesses that turned around their performance by embracing transparent policies, building stakeholder trust and adhering to ethical frameworks. The speakers encouraged students to be future leaders who value ethics not just as a legal requirement but as a strategic differentiator. The session ended at 4.35 p.m.
DAY 4- 23/07/2025
As part of the MBA Student Induction Programme, ASM organised a special talk on “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Healthcare” on 23.07.2025 at 9.30 am @ ASM Seminar Hall. The resource person was Dr. Gowri Achuvath, Director of Dane Diagnostics, Palakkad. Dr. Gowri, (Medical Professional) with her vast experience in clinical diagnostics and healthcare management, provided an insightful and motivational session tailored for budding management professionals. She began by explaining the vast landscape of the healthcare industry in India, including diagnostics, hospitals, wellness, health tech and pharmaceuticals. She emphasized that the sector offers immense potential for innovation and entrepreneurship. The speaker shed light on the increasing representation of women in leadership roles in healthcare. She shared her personal experiences of breaking barriers and leading a successful diagnostics chain and also addressed common hurdles such as funding access, work-life balance, gender bias, lack of mentorship and discussed practical strategies to overcome these challenges. The session was an interactive one and ended at 11.15 a.m.
The next session on “Self-Paced Learning Resources” was delivered by Mr. Lal. S, Librarian of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology at 11.30 am @ ASM Seminar Hall..The session aimed to familiarize students with various open and digital educational platforms that support continuous learning, skill development and academic excellence. Mr. Lal began by explaining the concept of self-paced learning and how it empowers students to learn at their own convenience, enabling deeper understanding and flexibility in grasping complex subjects. He emphasized the role of the college library in assisting students in navigating digital platforms, curating relevant content and encouraged students to seek librarian support. The session was highly informative and timely, equipping the newly inducted MBA students with valuable tools for academic and professional growth. He motivated the students for appearing in UGC NET examination and stressed the need for qualifying the exam.The session ended at 1.00 p m.
The afternoon session on “The Importance of Yoga in Daily Life” was conducted by Dr. Farshad, an expert in Ayurveda and wellness from Ahalia Ayurveda Medical College & Hospital (AAMCH) at 2.00 pm @ AAMC Seminar hall. The session aimed to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being among new management students through the ancient practice of Yoga. He briefly touched upon Ayurveda’s role in complementing yoga practices and suggested basic lifestyle tips aligned with Ayurvedic principles for improving health condition. The session was a refreshing and much-needed introduction to the role of Yoga in shaping not only the body but also the mind and spirit of future business leaders. Students participated actively by asking questions related to stress management, yoga for better focus and the right time and method to practice yoga as part of a busy academic schedule. It served as a perfect blend of traditional wisdom and modern needs, encouraging a mindful start to their management journey.
DAY 5- 28/07/2025
As part of the student induction program, an insightful awareness session titled “Addiction Ends Where Awareness Begins” was conducted on 28.07.2025 at 9.30 am to sensitize students on the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of conscious, healthy living. The session was led by Mr. Mahesh, Excise Preventive Officer from the Palakkad Division, who brought in rich field experience and real-life examples from his work combating drug-related issues. He began by highlighting the growing threat of addiction among youth, particularly due to easy access to narcotics, peer pressure and lack of awareness. He explained how substance abuse not only affects physical and mental health but also disrupts families, careers and communities. With a strong message that “One wrong decision can change the course of life,” he urged students to remain vigilant and informed. The session served as a wake-up call for many students, igniting a sense of social responsibility and personal vigilance.
A session on “Anti-Ragging & Sexual Harassment” was conducted at 11.15am by Adv. Reena Jaijith, a practicing lawyer at the District Court, Palakkad. The objective of the session was to educate the newly admitted students about their rights, responsibilities and the legal safeguards available against ragging and harassment in academic institutions. Adv. Reena opened the session with a clear explanation of what constitutes ragging and sexual harassment, citing examples from academic environments. She emphasized that ragging in any form verbal, physical or psychological is a punishable offense under Indian law. She highlighted the provisions of the UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The session successfully sensitized the students about the importance of mutual respect, legal boundaries and safe practices within the campus environment. It reinforced a shared commitment to maintaining an inclusive, ragging-free and harassment-free institution.
The afternoon session started at 2.00 p. m @ ASM Heritage Kuthambalam titled “Role of Nurses in Patient Care” delivered by Mrs. Blaicy, Vice Principal, Ahalia College of Nursing. The session aimed to provide management students with valuable insights into the vital contributions of nurses in the healthcare system and highlight the importance of collaboration between healthcare professionals and administrators. She began the session by explaining the core responsibilities of nurses, emphasizing their role as the backbone of patient care. She dis-cussed how nurses act as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring both medical support and emotional well-being. The lecture shed light on the multi-dimensional roles nurses play including caregiver, advocate, educator, communicator and coordinator. The session inspired a broader understanding of healthcare management, promoting a more empathetic and team-based approach in future healthcare leadership roles.
DAY 6- 29/07/2025
On 29.07.2025, the session on “Sustainable Habits for Holistic Living” was delivered by Dr. Prem Narayanan, Endocrinologist from Ahalia Diabetes Hospital, Palakkad @ 9.30 am. The session formed part of the ongoing orientation and awareness initiatives aimed at fostering healthy, balanced and sustainable lifestyles among students and professionals. The objective of the session was to create awareness about the importance of sustainable habits that contribute to long-term physical, mental and emotional well-being. He emphasized the interconnectedness of health, lifestyle choices and sustainability in daily living. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment where students sought guidance on managing academic stress, dietary routines and forming consistent healthy habits.
As part of the academic initiative to create awareness on digital safety and cyber security on 29.07.2025, a session on “Securing Cyberspace” was delivered at 11.30am by Mr. Sujith, a cybercrime expert from the Superintendent of Police Office, Palakkad. With the rapid digitization of services and increased online presence, the session was timely and highly relevant for students and staff. The main objective was to enlighten participants about the threats lurking in the digital world and equip them with practical knowledge and tools to safeguard their personal and professional data against cyber-attacks. Participants actively engaged with the speaker, asking insightful questions about digital banking safety, online frauds and how to verify authenticity of websites and apps. Mr. Sujith addressed each query with practical solutions and useful tips.
In the afternoon session, an industrial visit was arranged at 2.00 pm to AMMU – Ahalia Medicine Manufacturing Unit, located within the Ahalia Campus for students to provide practical exposure to the pharmaceutical manufacturing process and operational strategies of a modern medicine production unit. The visit was part of the UHV program aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical learning and industrial application. It was highly informative and gave students a real-world perspective on the functioning of a pharmaceutical industry. It reinforced the theoretical knowledge gained in classrooms and highlighted the importance of operational excellence, regulatory adherence and quality consciousness in the healthcare manufacturing sector.
DAY 7-30/07/2025
As a part of UHV- Student Induction Program, on 30.07.2025 a session on “Introduction to Tally” was conducted by Mr. P. Arun Kumar, Assistant Professor, ASM. The session started at 9.30 am which aimed at providing foundational knowledge of Tally, widely used accounting software in business and finance sectors. Mr. Arun Kumar began the session by highlighting the importance of digital accounting tools in today’s business environment and how Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime have revolutionized the way businesses manage accounts, inventory and taxation. The resource person emphasized the need for practical exposure and encouraged students to pursue certification courses in Tally to complement their academic knowledge. The session was highly interactive with real-time demonstrations of how to use the Tally interface for basic accounting operations. Students were also given insights into how Tally can enhance employability, especially in finance, accounting and administrative roles.
An awareness session on “Traffic Rules” was conducted by Mr. Sabu, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector, Chittoor, Palakkad and Mr. Manu, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector at 11.30 am. The session aimed to educate students about the importance of road safety, traffic discipline and the consequences of violations. Mr. Sabu began the talk by explaining the significance of adhering to traffic laws in preventing accidents and saving lives. He urged students to spread awareness among peers and family members about the importance of traffic safety. He supported his explanations with real-life examples and recent statistics on road accidents. The interactive nature of the session helped students relate to the topic on a personal level, encouraging them to think critically about their own responsibilities as road users. At the end, a pledge was taken by students and staff ensuring the adherence of traffic rules during driving in order to avoid accidents.
The afternoon session started at 2.00 pm with an inspiring session on “Entrepreneurial Success Story” was delivered by Dr. K. P. Khalid, Chairman and Managing Director, Good Buy Soaps & Cosmetics Pvt. Ltd., Kanjikode. Dr. Khalid emphasized the need for continuous learning, adaptability and customer-centric thinking. He also spoke about the local manufacturing ecosystem in Kanjikode and how regional enterprises can contribute to both employment and economic development. He shared his experience as entrepreneur from the very beginning till date. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where students sought guidance on startup challenges, product development and funding.

As part of the ‘Universal Human Values’ induction program for the newly admitted MBA students (2025–27 batch), Ahalia School of Management (ASM) organized an enriching session titled “Foundations for Personal and Professional Growth.” The session was led by Mr. M V Satheesh, Counseling Psychologist at Ahalia Group. The program commenced with an ice-breaking activity, during which Prof. (Dr.) B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal & Director of ASM, emphasized the importance of conceptual clarity and effective communication in professional life. Following the introductory interaction, Mr. Satheesh conducted an activity-based session, guiding students to explore their individual strengths and weaknesses. The session also helped students understand how personality traits can influence the selection of a suitable career path. A key highlight of the session was a detailed discussion on goal setting, where Mr. Satheesh introduced the SMART model – encouraging students to formulate goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. The session concluded with insights into effective decision-making, the components of good choices and the vital role of positive self-esteem in shaping a confident and successful personality. Practical strategies for building self-esteem were also shared. The session was well-received, offering students a reflective start to their MBA journey by aligning personal growth with professional aspirations.
As part of the Universal Human Values component of the Induction Programme for the MBA 2025–27 batch, Ahalia School of Management hosted a vital session on “Communication and Relationship Skills: Empowering Future Leaders” on Thursday, 31st July 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The session commenced at 11:15 AM, bringing together newly admitted students for an engaging and interactive learning experience. The objective of this session was to equip future business leaders with the foundational skills required for effective communication and relationship building – two indispensable elements for personal and professional success in the corporate world. The session began with a detailed overview of the types and modes of communication – verbal, non-verbal and written and their relevance in the workplace. Emphasis was placed on active listening, clarity of message and emotional intelligence in communication. Students participated in role-play exercises, small group discussions and self-reflection activities. These methods helped them experience real-time communication challenges and practice solutions in a safe, academic environment. The session underscored the importance of interpersonal relationships, especially in team-based organizational settings. Strategies for building trust, handling conflict and networking with empathy were discussed in depth. The discussion moved into how communication serves as a core tool for effective leadership. The significance of influencing without authority, public speaking confidence and feedback mechanisms were explored with practical examples. The session concluded by encouraging students to continually develop their communication and relationship skills through observation, practice and feedback. As part of the ongoing Induction Programme designed to orient and empower the newly admitted MBA students of the 2025–27 batch, Ahalia School of Management hosted an informative session titled “Unlocking Your Future with IELTS” on Thursday, 31st July 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the ASM Seminar Hall. The session was led by Ms. Chippy, a seasoned IELTS Trainer and faculty member at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology (ASET).Ms. Chippy began the session by outlining the structure and significance of the IELTS examination, emphasizing its global acceptance as a benchmark for English language proficiency for academic, immigration and professional purposes. A detailed explanation of the four components – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking – was provided, along with practical tips, techniques and ‘dos and don’ts’ for approaching each section. Ms. Chippy provided an overview of the assessment objectives of each section, the ‘9’ band scoring system and its descriptors. She also discussed eligibility criteria, score requirements of reputed universities, the role of mock-tests and the role of peers in encouragement. Ms. Chippy shared a list of recommended online platforms, books and courses, encouraging self-paced learning and consistent practice. The session concluded with an open Q&A, where students clarified their doubts regarding exam fee, repetition parameters and score validity.
DAY 9-01/08/2025
On 01.08.2025, the session started at 9.30 am on the topic “Augmented Reality – A Game Changer for Modern Business” was a stimulating start to the day’s induction schedule. Mr. Vimal Raju, HoD, Virtual Production, ASOMSAFT and leading expert in Virtual Production, captivated the audience with real-world use cases of Augmented Reality (AR) in sectors such as retail, manufacturing, education and healthcare. He emphasized how AR can revolutionize customer engagement, product visualization and immersive marketing. The session included interactive demonstrations of AR applications, which gave students a hands-on understanding of the technology. Mr. Raju also discussed future career opportunities in the AR domain and encouraged students to embrace emerging technologies to stay ahead in the competitive business world. The session concluded with a Q&A segment where students actively participated and clarified their doubts on AR tools and business integrations.
The next session was handled by Mr. K Madhavan Unni, IRS (Retd), Advisor, IIT Palakkad at 11.15 am. Mr. K Madhavan Unni, a retired IRS officer and seasoned academician conducted an insightful session on “General Management – Best Practices”. The session covered core principles of effective management, decision-making, leadership, team building and ethical governance. Drawing from his extensive experience in civil services and academia, Mr. Unni elaborated on strategic management frameworks, operational efficiency and the importance of people-oriented leadership. He illustrated his points with practical examples from both government and private sector settings, bridging the gap between theory and practice. The highlight of the session was his emphasis on integrity, discipline and adaptability as essential traits for future managers.
In the afternoon session, Ms. Sanitha, Librarian, ASM delivered a comprehensive talk on “Strengthening Library Resources and Digital Access”. She highlighted the critical role libraries play in the academic and personal development of MBA students. The session introduced students to a range of physical and digital library resources available at ASM, including management journals, databases, e-books, online repositories and digital platforms like NDLI, SWAYAM and INFLIBNET. She explained the procedures for accessing digital content remotely, searching efficiently through catalogues and leveraging institutional subscriptions for research and projects. She also encouraged students to cultivate reading habits and stay updated with current trends in management literature. The session was informative and equipped the students with essential skills to utilize the library as an academic growth hub.
DAY 10- 02/08/2025
As part of the Induction Programme for the newly admitted I Sem. MBA students at Ahalia School of Management, an engaging and insightful session on “Ice Breaking and Goal Setting” was conducted on 2nd August 2025 at 9:30 AM in the ASM Seminar Hall. The session was led by Ms. Sneha Raj, a renowned Life Skills and Employability Trainer associated with the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), Government of Kerala. The session began with an interactive ice-breaking activity that helped students ease into the new academic environment. Ms. Sneha employed a series of fun, energetic and team-based exercises that encouraged students to open up, collaborate and get acquainted with their peers. These activities created a lively atmosphere and fostered a sense of belonging, essential for building rapport and classroom synergy.
Following the ice-breaking session, Ms. Sneha transitioned into the topic of Goal Setting, emphasizing the importance of clarity in purpose and direction during the MBA journey. She explained the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) framework for setting realistic and structured goals. The students were guided to reflect on their personal and professional aspirations and draft short-term and long-term goals.
Throughout the session, Ms. Sneha stressed the significance of self-awareness, time management and self-discipline in achieving academic and career objectives. She also shared real-life examples and success stories, which inspired the students to take ownership of their learning journey. The session was highly interactive and participative, with students actively engaging in group discussions, individual reflection exercises, and question-answer segments. The positive energy and motivational tone set by Ms. Sneha made a lasting impact on the students. The session served its dual purpose effectively- breaking the initial barriers among the students and helping them set a focused, goal-oriented mindset.
