World Health Day is observed globally on 7 April every year to raise awareness about important health issues and to encourage communities to adopt healthier life-styles. In line with this global initiative, the Ahalia Academic Outreach and Events Team of Ahalia Group organized a World Health Day celebration on 7 April 2026 at 10:00 AM near Ahalia Home Centre. The programme aimed to promote awareness about physical, mental and social well-being among students and staff members.
The programme commenced at 10:00 AM with a welcome address by Prof. B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal and Director, Ahalia School of Management. He welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students who gathered for the celebration. In his address, Prof. Vijayachandran Pillai emphasized the significance of celebrating World Health Day in today’s fast-paced and stress-driven academic environment. He highlighted that health is not limited to physical well-being but also includes mental and social health, which are equally important for students and professionals. He also discussed different tools and practices that can enhance mental and social health among the student community. He concluded his address by encouraging students to adopt healthy lifestyle practices and to become ambassadors of health awareness within their communities.
The formal inauguration of the programme was conducted by Dr. Suresh Babu K G, Medical Director, Ahalia Diabetes Hospital. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the importance of healthcare awareness and the role played by healthcare professionals and hospitals in building a healthier society. He also appreciated the initiative taken by the Ahalia Academics Outreach and Events Team for organizing such a meaningful programme and encouraged students to actively participate in health awareness initiatives. Following the inaugural session, students from various Ahalia Academic Institutions actively participated in the programme. A flash mob was conducted by students representing different Ahalia academic institutions, conveying the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyle practices. Students and faculty members actively engaged in the programme and appreciated the initiative taken by the Ahalia Academic Outreach and Events Team. The World Health Day celebration concluded at 12:00 PM with positive feedback from participants. The celebration ended with a group photo.
