On 21st April 2025, ASM students and faculties attended the Online Inaugural Session of One Week IP UTSAV as part of celebration of World Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Day  jointly organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and AICTE at 11:30 a.m onwards. The session was inaugurated by Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Hon’ble Chairman, AICTE. Thereafter, Dr. Abhay Jere, Hon’ble Vice Chairman, AICTE offered felicitations to the function. The resource persons of the sessions were Prof. (Dr.) Unnat Pandit (Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trademarks; Registrar of Copyright and Geographical Indications, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India) and Dr. Sacha Wunsch-Vincent, Head of Section, Economics and Statistics Division, and Co-editor of the Global Innovation Index (GII) at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The session gave insights about the various aspects of IPR. They also stressed the need for assuring protection to the entrepreneurs / business people who invest their creative ideas in R&D through a strong regulatory framework. The session ended at 1.00.p.m.
