Ahalia School of Management (ASM) celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 (9.15 a.m. – 11.00 a.m.) with great commitment towards environmental sustainability. The programme aimed to create awareness among management students about the importance of environmental conservation and to encourage active participation in eco-friendly initiatives. Faculty members and students joined together to observe the day through meaningful environmental activities across the ASM and Ahalia campuses.
The formal inauguration of the World Environment Day celebrations was held at the ASM Campus. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal and Director, Ahalia School of Management. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the significance of World Environment Day and highlighted the responsibility of educational institutions, particularly management schools, in promoting sustainable development. He stressed that MBA students, as future managers and business leaders, should develop an environmental consciousness and integrate sustainability into organizational decision-making. Following the inaugural session, faculty members and students actively participated in a series of environment-friendly activities organized across the ASM and Ahalia campuses. The major activities included Planting of Tree Saplings, Environmental Awareness Activities, Eco-friendly Campus Practices etc. The activities witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members, reflecting their commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. The celebration concluded successfully at 11.00 a.m. The entire programme was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Ajith Sanker R.N., whose efforts contributed significantly to the successful organization of the event.
