Group Discussion Programme for the newly admitted MBA Students – 2026- 28 Batch

Ahalia School of Management conducted a Group Discussion Programme for MBA students on 3 July 2026 @ 10.30 am with the objective of preparing the rank list of students admitted during the academic year 2026–27. The session was moderated by Prof. (Dr.) B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal & Director, along with the panel members Dr. Manju M., Ms. Jyothis Rachel Mathews, Mr. Ajith Sankar, Mr. Arunkumar P. and Ms. T. Ashitha.

The topic selected for the group discussion was Is It Necessary to Prescribe Minimum Educational Qualifications for Politicians? The moderator explained the four important stages of the group discussion process, namely preparation, individual presentation, open discussion and report writing. Students were guided on the importance of content clarity, communication style, listening skills, teamwork, leadership, analytical thinking and confidence while participating in discussions. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students. Participants actively shared their opinions, arguments and perspectives on both the positive and negative aspects of the topic. The discussion created an engaging learning atmosphere and enabled students to enhance their presentation, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. The panel members carefully observed each participant and assessed them on various parameters, including subject knowledge, clarity of thought, logical reasoning, leadership qualities, teamwork, confidence and overall communication effectiveness.  Based on the evaluation, scores were awarded to each participant for preparing the admission rank list in a fair and transparent manner.  The programme proved to be highly beneficial in preparing students for placements, interviews and professional interactions.
