A three-day internship programme was conducted at Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital (AFEH), Palakkad, from 24 to 26 March 2025. A total of 8 students participated in the programme.

The internship was designed to provide students with practical exposure to the administration and service delivery processes of a specialized eye hospital. The students observed patient registration, appointment scheduling, OPD procedures, patient flow, billing and insurance processes, medical records management, pharmacy operations and diagnostic services.

Students also gained an understanding of clinical-administrative coordination, patient care processes, service quality and the importance of efficient hospital operations. The programme provided valuable opportunities for students to relate classroom learning to actual healthcare practices and develop practical knowledge of specialized hospital management.
