An internship programme was conducted at Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital, Palakkad, on 15 October 2024, with 8 students participating. The programme provided practical exposure to the operations and management of a specialized eye-care hospital.

The students were introduced to various hospital functions, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, OPD procedures, patient flow management, billing and insurance, medical records, pharmacy services and diagnostic facilities. They also observed how clinical and administrative teams coordinate to ensure efficient patient care. The internship enhanced students’ understanding of hospital workflow, patient-centred service delivery, administrative practices and quality of healthcare services, providing an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a practical environment.
