The Ahalia School of Management (ASM), Palakkad, signed a Memorandum of Under-standing (MoU) with Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), Kanjikode, Palakkad, on Tuesday, 29 September 2026 at 4.00 p.m. The MoU marks an important step towards strengthening industry–academia collaboration and providing MBA students with meaning-ful exposure to the defence manufacturing sector. The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal & Director, Ahalia School of Management, on behalf of ASM, in the presence of Mr. Pushparaj V. P., Admin-istrator, ASM. On behalf of BEML, the MoU was signed by Mr. Lalith Kumar Biswal, HR Officer, BEML, Palakkad, in the presence of Mr. Athul P., Jr. Executive – HR, BEML.

The primary objective of the MoU is to create awareness and interest among MBA students in the Defense Manufacturing Ecosystem and to provide them with opportunities to gain practical knowledge and industry exposure. As part of the collaboration, students will be facilitated to visit the factory site and manufacturing units of BEML, enabling them to understand industrial operations, manufacturing processes, organizational practices, quality systems, and human resource practices in a major public-sector defiance manufacturing organization. The MoU also seeks to bring together the efforts and expertise of both institutions for the imparting of knowledge and enhancement of the skills of students and academicians. The collaboration is expected to provide students with opportunities for industrial internships, guest lectures and interaction with industry experts, academic and industry-oriented projects, industrial visits, and other experiential learning activities.
