INAUGURATION OF MBA 2024-26 BATCH

The formal inauguration of the 12th batch of the MBA program (2024-26) was held on August 14, 2024, at 10:30 AM in the ASM Seminar Hall. The event was honoured by Mr. V.P. Iswardas, former Managing Director & Chief Executive of Catholic Syrian Bank, Thrissur, as the chief guest.

The program commenced with a silent prayer, followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Padmaavathy P.A., Associate Professor, welcomed the audience.

Dr. B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal & Director of ASM, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the unique aspects of the MBA program. He also discussed the historical evolution of management education globally, nationally, and at the state level. He  explained on career opportunities for management professionals and offered  mantras  for success for the newly inducted students.

The keynote address was presented by Dr. Krishnakumar Kishor, Executive Director of Ahalia Group. In his address he highlighted the distinctive features of the MBA program at ASM, the facilities available at the Ahalia campus, and underscored the significance of parent-teacher interactions in the academic journey of students.

The program was formally inaugurated by Mr. V.P. Iswardas. His inaugural address highlighted several key points:

The 3 D’s for Managers:

Dream: The importance of envisioning future goals.

Design: The need to strategize and plan.

Diligence: The value of hard work and perseverance.

The 6 C’s for Success:

Communication: Effective verbal and written skills.

Computer Proficiency: Competence in digital tools and technology.

Customer Centricity: Focus on understanding and serving customer needs.

Consistency: Reliability and steady performance.

Calculated Risk-Taking Ability: Making informed decisions while taking risks.

Competency: Demonstrating the necessary skills and knowledge.

Mr. Iswardas shared insights from his experience in the banking industry at the managerial level and recounted several motivational stories. He concluded his address with a quote from Edith Wharton: “There are two ways of spreading light: to be a candle or the mirror that reflects light.”

Thereafter Dr S N Jagadeesh Principal Ahalia  School of Commerce and Mathematics  offered  felicitation  to the function . He listed out and explained the merits of MBA program at ASM and also the infrastructure facilities available for students. He urged the students to utilize the opportunities offered by Ahalia . Ms. Manju M., Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees.

The meeting was further distinguished by the presence Dr. Suresh P.R., Principal of Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, HR Manager Mr. G Sreekumar, members of the Administrative Department and faculty members of Ahalia School of Commerce and Mathematics.

After a brief refreshment break, an interactive session with parents was organized by Prof. Dr. B. Vijayachandran Pillai, Principal  & Director. The session concluded at 12:45 PM.
